Animals

If you read my blog with any regularity,
then you will recognize this fellow
with the far away look in his eye....

It's TomTom, the omnipresent barn kitty...
my gardening sidekick.

That far away look could be the residual effect from anesthesia,

or maybe it is just TomTom dreaming of all the things he
is going to do with this new lease on life.

You see, TomTom has always been a snorty, snotty, sneezy cat.
He has been treated with countless pills and potions,
all designed to quiet his stertorous breathing.

Yesterday, TomTom went to the local animal hospital for a procedure...
a scoping to see if there was a removable cause for this problem.

Luckily....
YES
this
lovely,
large,
lobular
 polyp
(I know....gross!)

was growing in the back of his naso-pharynx, obstructing his breathing.

Now TomTom has a new, quiet lease on life.
I am sure he feels better,
and most likely will have more energy
with more oxygen pumping into his lungs.

"Look out mousies"....a new TomTom is here!
Now he'll be able to sneak up on those little mice
that have made our barn their home.

- The Rooster Saga Continues (and Happy Birthday Hubbs!!!)
I won't bore you by telling this whole tale from the beginning.  But I will summarize for those of you who are new to my blog.  This past summer I ordered 25 fancy chicks.  I also ordered a very colorful rooster chick (enter Hank)....

- Another Cat Tale
The other evening my last stop for the afternoon feeding was the barn....to feed the kitties. Most afternoons, when I walk through the barn door, I have to watch my step. There are usually three kitties trying to cozy up to me, wrapping themselves around...

- I'll Follow You Anywhere
The Littles and the barn kitties have all become the best of friends. TomTom has taken to napping in a corner of the Littles' stall. Bobby has decided that it is his job to lead the Littles back to the barn. Quite often Red tries to take Bobby's...

- Feline Barn Games
This morning, while I was cleaning manure out of our dry lot in front of the barn I was treated to a hilarious kitty game. It seems that our frisky TomTom loves to burrow in piles of hay that are put out for the horses. At one point, TomTom had just...

- One Cool Cat
Barn work is never solitary...not since TomTom joined us. Whatever the chore, he is in the middle of things. This is our barn refrigerator...home to horse treats and eggs. I am not sure what TomTom's fascination with it is...perhaps the fact that...
