Socks & Samantha's Romantic Date in Paris
We arrived in Paris at night so Samantha and I are enjoying a romantic dinner on the Bateaux Parisiens as we float down the Seine. Samantha can't take her eyes off all the lovely places outside the restaurant window, me I can't take my eyes off her. Isn't Samantha gorgeous?
I arranged to stay at La Ferme de la Joie in La Chambre Bleue, a charming farmhouse of the XVIII century. I thinks Samantha was charmed by our room., I made arrangements for a small surprise to be waiting on the night stand for her.
I have been lucky enough to be loved by two terrific ladycats. First my Darling MoMo and then after she went to the Rainbow Bridge my Sweet Samantha. One of my deepest regrets is putting off asking MoMo to marry me until the purrfect time. Alas we ran out of time as MoMo's time to go to the Bridge came way to soon. I don't intend to make the same mistake twice. SWEET SAMANTHA, WILL YOU MARRY ME? (you'll have to visit Life From A Cat's Perspective to see her answer)
Here I am with Samantha outside the La Ferme de la Joie. We enjoyed the unique topiary garden at the farm which consists of carved boxwood and old roses, it was simply lovely. And we choose to have a filling breakfast in the garden before we left for the days activities. As you can image we are very fond of this Bed & Breakfast and hope to return often for many happy occasions.
Our first stop was the Eiffel Tower.
The Luxembourg Palace and Gardens were ou
r next stop, we had a marvelous time strolling through the gardens and touring the palace. We enjoyed a picnic lunch while we were there, in a secluded spot in the gardens.
We relaxed on the train ride to the Palace of Versailles, where we enjoyed paddling around in a paddle boat and riding bicycles around the estate.
Our last stop was Palais Garnier. The elegant opera house, built from 1861 to 1875, for the Paris Opera, is one of the most famous opera houses in the world. It was the setting for Gaston Leroux’s 1911 novel “The Phantom of the Opera.”. We had a great time here. After a very full day we headed home after I stopped in to pick up this portrait I had commissioned.
