American Literature

Since I couldn't find an American Literature book I was happy with, I am going to devise my own for Lord Epa to use next year. Here is your chance to chime in with the American author you think MUST be included.

Here is a partial list of what I have so far.

  1. The Lost History of Aztec & Maya by Charles Phillips
  2. The Civil War Strange & Fascinating Facts by Burke Davis
  3. A Taste of Freedom by Tommie Thompson
  4. Anthem by Ayn Rand (lesson plans)
  5. The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand (lesson plans)
  6. The Bible According to Mark Twain
  7. A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain
  8. The House of the Seven Gables by Nathanial Hawthorne

And here is a partial list of what I want

  1. By Burke Davis - Gray Fox, Jeb Stuart, and To Appomattox
  2. By Ulysses S. Grant - The Personal Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant & The Civil War Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant
  3. Faulkner
  4. Welty
  5. F. Scott Fitzgerald

I'll be using Glencoe's History of A Free Nation for history. I have the teacher's edition, so I just need to get the student edition for Lord Epa. We will also use The Federal Union by John D. Hicks (Third Edition) and Government and Politics in the United States by Harold Zink (Third Edition).

- What's Up In Alasandra's World
I loved Mother Crone's Whining Victims of Public Schools. We have all known parents like that. They would rather bitch, whine, and moan then actually do something to improve the situation. Although to be fair you pretty much either have to take your...
