Change-Up

Happy Monday!

This week I am doing something I have not done in a long time.
I am taking a vacation from blogging,
to spend with my family.

I will post a few photos on Monday, Wednesday and Friday that were prepared ahead of time,
the only difference....
each short post will just be photos....no writing (ok, well, not much writing!).

I will tell you all about my week with family on Monday (Memorial Day).

Today's photos are some birds-eye views from the hayloft.

From the hayloft (front of the barn).... to the left....

the garden and pastures behind it....

and to the right....

The largest pine tree on the left side is Sampson,
our 200+ year old white pine....nighttime roosting place of the guineas.
To the right of that is the dry lot, then the front pasture,
and in the distance the 200+ year old log cabin
that was the original homestead for this land.

From the hayloft (out the back of the barn)...

- Leftovers
For those of you who enjoy videos from the farm...this post is for you!For you, who would rather a quicker post...I apologize. While out and about this week I captured a little video in several of the animal areas. And because I think my critters are...

- It's So Hot....
....I feel like I'm melting! We are in the midst of a string of beautifully sunny, extremely hot days.Unusually hot.Too hot. This little guy, Leo, usually spends his days in the hayloft of the barn, but with the current weather,it's cooler outside...

- Setting The Scene
There are some blogs that I read daily, and (due to a lack of time) others that I catch with less frequency.I love these glimpses into others' lives...most with whom I share a common love of animals. I often wish I had a tour of their homes, farms,...

- The Rooster Saga Continues (and Happy Birthday Hubbs!!!)
I won't bore you by telling this whole tale from the beginning.  But I will summarize for those of you who are new to my blog.  This past summer I ordered 25 fancy chicks.  I also ordered a very colorful rooster chick (enter Hank)....

- Quiet Winter Scenes
Being from Africa, Guineas are not so fond of snow and ice, and so they spend most of these days seeking shelter on the Dutch doors to the horse stalls. This was the view from the top of Bee Haven Lane yesterday after the snow ended. Off to the far right...
