Continued ~ Andrew Jackson's Campaign Against the British
Chapter 15 through 23
Clairborne defeated the Creek's at Holy Ground. Andrew Jackson defeated the Creeks at The Battle of Horseshoe Bend which led to the Creeks surrender and later a treaty with the Americans.
Jackson then led his troops to Pensacola, where the Spanish were openly providing aid to the British and their Indian allies. Meanwhile the Americans defended Fort Bowyer from a British invasion. Jackson captured Pensacola and drove the Spanish and British from American lands for good. He then headed to New Orleans to defend it from attack.
The American Navy was defeated in the naval engagement on Lake Borgne. Andrew Jackson continued with his preparations to defend New Orleans, among those helping in the defense of New Orleans were the pirates Jean & Pierre Lafitte and freemen of color.
