Demolition Continues


Here is how the old house looks today. The garage is completely deconstructed. The excavator dug a hole in one of our fields....and there we will bury just drywall and cinderblock. Everything else in the house will be recycled! Yay!!!! Who's head is that peeking into this picture???

I spent much of the day in the asparagas patch....weeding and mulching. Now is the time to get our garden tucked in for the winter. See my constant companion? She's not much help and very often lies right in the middle of my work, but she is great company and very generous with kisses!

- A Day In The Life....
Although there is a sort of comfort in a rainy day...being able to catch up on inside chores and do a bit of nesting; we live for warm, sunny days on the farm. Rising early, starting the day with a hearty breakfast, we head down to the barn to whittle...

- Update
Here is the start of our front porch. Tongue and groove decking will be placed on top of all the beams....visible from beneath. On top of the tongue and groove will be roofing that will match the rest of the house. I just love the web design of the front...

- Winter Warmth
Today was a day of preparing for winter. Our little guest house has been insulated and today new energy efficient windows were installed. The cutest little wood stove was installed today as well. Looks like we will be toasty warm when the snow flies!...

- Snug As A Bug
"Snug as a bug in a rug"....that is how I would describe life in our little A-frame. We have all the essentials in a very tiny space. I thought I would give you a little tour of our living quarters for the next year while our log home is being built....

- Goodbye Garden
How amazing is it that one day you have 20 or so pepper plants loaded with all different varieties and the next day they are gone? Chalk that one up to a killing frost. The past couple of nights have brought Bee Haven Acres temperatures in the very low...
