Fishy Contributions

A $5,000 campaign contribution from the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians to Gov. Haley Barbour is raising eyebrows among some who are protesting the tribe's proposed casino resort in Jackson County.

Barbour has promised to veto the tribe's proposed casino resort in Jackson County, this seems like a blatant attempt to win him over.

Barbour's acceptance of the Choctaws' money also did not impress Mississippi Sierra Club boss Louie Miller. Club members are protesting the potential environmental effects a resort could have on the area, which is near wetlands and Old Fort Bayou.
