Supermarket chain Kroger on Friday asked its customers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, east Texas, and Shreveport and Alexandria, La., to check pet food they have for specific packages of Pet Pride pet food.
The products were initially included in a Mars Petcare U.S. recall on Sept. 12. The concern is the pet food may be contaminated with Salmonella Schwarzengrund and may cause illness in cats, dogs and humans that come in contact with the food.
