Masseuse, My A$$
Ok.... sorry
Please forgive me for the title...I just don't know what got into me.
But...it seemed to fit!
I have no idea what happened, but the video you are about to watch had a title when I made it...
and obviously it disappeared. But the rest of the video turned out ok...
This routine is something that Daphne and Chloe have gotten used to.
I usually give them their rubdowns first thing in the morning
after I have put on their fly masks.
In case you were wondering, we are still in the midst of blueberry season.
I spent a little time yesterday afternoon picking as many as I could.
I also found two plums (the first ever!) on our new plum trees.
And... we have pears on our young pear tree.
And then there are the wild blackberries that are also in need of picking.
I will be combining some of the blueberries and blackberries to make a mixed berry jam.
Our apple orchard is also full of fruit this year.
It seems to be a great year for fruit.
And since we are talking about fruit...
I wanted to show you what our corn on the cob looks like.
This year I planted shoe peg corn...that is, the kernels do not line up in rows.
This variety is quite sweet and yummy!
I am finding it hard to believe our weather this week.
It is the end of July and our high daytime temps have been in the 70's
with nighttime lows in the low 50's.
Bizzarre!
Also... it's not been good for making hay.
And tomatoes, this year, are not good without the hot days to ripen them.
I'm not complaining though...
I love the cooler temps!

Au Revoir Bluettes!
It was with a bit of sadnessthat I picked the last of the blueberries yesterday.I know, these look enormous, but it is just the camera angle. Well, we have enjoyed blueberry crisp, blueberry salsa, fresh blueberries on ice cream;and the pantry is full of...

Blackberries
Weather has not been optimal this summer for many of my vegetable garden plants. We have tomatoes on the vine, but they are very slow to ripen and do not have the best juicy texture. Vine plants such as squashes and cucumbers have yielded no fruit....too...

The Fruits Of Our Labor
This week marks the official entrance of Summer. After weeks of rain, we are finally in the midst of a warm, dry spell. We have more strawberries than we can possibly use. Finally, our fruit trees and vines will have a warm sun to help them ripen. If...

Strange Day Indeed
One thing that being on the farm does to you is make you keenly aware of weather patterns. After all, weather affects most farm activities. This afternoon started out with brilliant blue sky and lots of cumulus clouds. The temperature reached a high of...
