Pet Food Recall ~ Ban ingredients of Chinese origin

After dogs began falling ill and dying as a result of eating the food, Royal Canin SA recalled a number of its products, and stated it would no longer use any ingredients of Chinese origin in their foods. The government of South Africa also stopped imports of Chinese glutens in response to the discovery.

When are the companies in the USA going to announce they will no longer use any ingredients of Chinese origin in their foods? These Chinese companies have proven themselves untrustworthy (they deliberately contaminated our pet food which led to the death of OUR PETS) they do not deserve a second chance to kill our pets.

While corn gluten from China is on the list of import items being held for special processing by the FDA, there have been no reports of contaminated corn gluten in the United States. However, the FDA’s David Acheson stated Tuesday that the FDA is not testing protein concentrates of vegetable origin being imported from China, but relying on third party inspections and documentation obtained by the importers themselves.

Oh Great, that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. This is the same third party inspections that killed our PETS.

Ban imports for China!!!!
Until the U.S. bans imports from China what can consumers do? Attempt to find out where the ingredients in your pets food and your food come from. If they come from China don't buy them. Eventually those companies that do business with China will stop buying from them.
