Public School Officials in Kansas Ban Breast Cancer Fundraiser

October is breast cancer awareness month. You would think that school officials would have nothing but praise for two girls who wanted to raise money for breast cancer (you would be wrong).

Two Salina Central High School seniors designed T-shirts to raise money for breast cancer awareness, but an assistant principal banned one of the designs from school.

Haley Wenthe's mother died from breast cancer five years ago, and Jessica Sheahon's mom recently completed chemotherapy. So they set out to raise $10,000 during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

But Assistant Principal Linn Exline told them that one of the designs crossed the line and she forbid the shirts from being sold or worn at school.
