RePete

It's often said that cats have nine lives.
It's never said that horses have the same.

No, horses are fragile creatures.
They break easily.
Sometimes they are physically broken, and sometimes emotionally.

Bringing a broken horse back to life is not an easy task.
It requires great love and great patience...
and then a little more love and a whole lot more patience.

If you are new to my blog, you will want to read this earlier post.
It tells the story of Becky's rescued horse Pete.
Pete came to live on the farm this past March.
He was broken.... both physically and emotionally.
Pete had had at least 2 lives before Becky rescued him...
(Becky (Dr. Becky) is Hubbs sister and an equine vet who shares our farm.)

Pete's first life took him into the world of horse racing.

His second life was a sad, sad, neglected life that brought him to the brink of death.

This post is about his third life... the life that Becky has given him...
a life full of love and kindness and patience.

Becky is now working Pete under saddle.
It has been a slow process...
working on Pete's confidence,
and conquering his fears.

The work has paid off....
Look how proud Pete is now!
Pete's injuries have healed.
It appears he just likes to "hang loose"!
