Thursday Thirteen ~ Books

Thirteen Books I Read in September
  1. The Bancroft Strategy by Robert Ludlum ~ How do you get the Hound to find Genesis for you? You spin a web of lies and deceit. Will he discover the truth in time to stop the bad guys.

  2. The Magnificent Rogue by Irish Johansen - pure romance.

  3. Escape Velocity by Christopher Stasheff - it should be required reading in our schools. Teen boys should enjoy. Click here to see all his books. I have finished the Rogue Wizard series and am starting on the Warlock of Gramarye series.

  4. Touching Evil by Kay Hooper ~ I enjoyed it and hope to see the characters again in a future book.

  5. The Power That Preserves by Stephen R. Dondaldson - I enjoyed this one more then I did the other two, it didn't seem as dark.

  6. The Courage Tree by Diane Chamberlain - I enjoyed it. Sophie suffers from an hereditary kidney disease an experimental herbal infusion improves her health enough she can go to girl scout camp. Unfortunately she elects to ride home with the young scout leader who is known for being impulsive and taking short cuts. Will they be able to find eight year old Sophie before it's too late.

  7. The Dangerous Days of Daniel X by James Patterson - think Men in Black with J & K being replaced by a teenage boy (oh yeah Daniel is an alien too with superpowers, he can create things with his mind among other gifts).

  8. Lost Souls by Lisa Jackson ~ I had a hard time getting into this book. Maybe because I find the main character Kristi Betz so annoying her main purpose in life seems to be to attract serial killers so her Dad (Dectective Rick Bentz) can rescue her. By this book I am kinda hoping either the serial killer succeeds or Kristi grows up.

  9. Say Goodbye by Lisa Gardner ~ this was a real page turner, I didn't expect to feel sorry for the villain, but I did in the end. The book revolves around the kidnapping of a 9 year old little boy by a sexual pervert, the Burgerman, who raped him, forced him to star in porn movies, help kidnapp other kids and other unspeakable horrors. Police never found this little boy and brought him home, the authorities never caught the Burgerman, nobody helped this poor kid........................this is what happens 30 years later. From the last chapter I am expecting a sequel.

  10. Roanoke by Lee Miller ~ This was an interesting book Miller hypothesizes that Walsingham sabotaged the colonist in order to destroy Raleigh. He believes when the colonist realized that supplies would not be coming they moved inland to live with a friendly Indian tribe. Because the Indians were not immune to the diseases the colonist carried the tribe was decimated by small pox allowing their enemies (The Mandoag) to overcome them and carry the colonist along with their Indian allies off as slaves.

  11. Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon ~ Grace gets more then she bargained for when she summons Julian of Macedon to be her love slave.

  12. Smoke Screen by Sandra Brown ~ Five years ago Britt Shelley helped destroy Arson Investigator Raley Gannon's career and his life. Now she is accused of murdering Detective Jay Burgess in his sleep. Her only defense is that she was drugged and doesn't remember what happened, but no one believes her. Except for Gannon, can he help her prove her innoncence and clear his name before it's too late for them both.

  13. Skull Wars by David Hurst Thomas ~ Explores the controversy about Kennewick Man.
