World Cat Day
Zoolatry says today is World Cat Day. We are going to celebrate by letting Mommy tell you a little about each of us.
This is Whiskers, while this isn't the best picture I have of him it is the last picture I took of him before he went to the Rainbow Bridge. He loved other animals and was always bringing doggies home and whenever we brought a kitten home he befriended it right away. He and Socks were very good friends and Socks still misses his brother. He had lots of nicknames Fatcat, Whiskers the Wonder Kitty and Supreme Ruler of the Universe are just a few of them. Whiskers was a victim of the 2007 Petfood Recall.
Socks is a gentle and shy mancat. He is a true gentlemen and always waits patiently for what he wants. He has the cutest little squeak for a Meow. He also has the habit of materializing out of thin air so he is nicknamed Ninja Cat. Not long after the girls came to live with us he caught a rabbit and brought it up to the house for them to play with so I guess he is a pawsome hunter too.
This little ball of fluff is Scylla. Can you believe how tiny she was as a kitten. She is about 6 weeks old here.
And here is Charybdis at 6 weeks
Here they are when I first brought them home at 4 weeks. Their Mother was a feral cat and was probably a victim of the 2007 petfood recall. The Spay & Neuter Alliance had been feeding her and were waiting to trap her until she brought the kittens to eat so they could trap them at the same time. They found her dead at the place they usually feed her so they went to look for the kittens, thankfully they were able to find them. The lady I had visited about adopting kittens knew I was looking for kittens younger then they usually adopt out so she asked if I would be interested in fostering them (I had planned on getting a 6 weeks old kitten thinking Socks would adjust to it better, now they don't allow you to adopt kittens until 8 weeks or older). We bottle feed them for awhile, hence their names Scylla & Charybdis. We were between a "rock and a hard place" when they both wanted their bottles at the same time.
