In the Heat of the Day

What a splendid week of beautiful weather we have had....
sunny days, warm temperatures, balmy nights.
The warm temperatures have given my garden boxes a jump start.
The onions are up about 4 inches.
The radishes and sugar snap peas are up.
I have spent the past several days getting the soil ready
in the rest of the garden boxes.
The beets are planted, as are the lettuce and spinach boxes.

There is much activity in the greenhouse also.
The cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, and peppers have germinated.
The flowers, cabbage, brussels sprouts, pumpkins
and squash have not yet emerged.
They remain on warming pads in anticipation.
As with each project that we do around the farm,
we can always count on plenty of great supervision.
Ella Bella makes sure everything is just right in the garden.
TomTom, on the other hand, is no help at all!
PS:  Check back tomorrow as someone special is returning to Bee Haven Acres for the summer.  She has had a major make-over and tomorrow will be the big reveal!

- Gearing Up For Spring
Finally, after so many months of snow and Winter's icy grip, we were treated to a balmy, sunny weekend.  Ahhhh....the promise of Spring....a much needed gift was bestowed upon us this weekend.  And we took full advantage of it.  We...

- Minerva, Master-weeder
Amazingly, since Minerva has taken up residence in the garden, it is virtually weed free (we won't mention that I spent the entire past week on my hands and knees). Regardless, the garden is the best it has ever looked at this point of the season....
