And Finally... The Money Shot

Yesterday's sunrise was magnificent!
But what struck me even more was the post-sunrise sky.

It looked as though these clouds were painted on a canvas of blue...
quite unusual, and definitely noteworthy.

And that was the last of the farm that I saw for the day.

I headed out as the sun rose for a morning of keeping Mackenzie followed by an afternoon
of nursing work.

When I returned home we retrieved the memory cards from the game cameras in the woods.
If you have followed this blog for a while, then you will remember
that I sometimes post "A Walk On The Wild Side".

Because I was away from the farm yesterday,
I have decided to share our wilder side with you here today.
And if you have followed me for a while,
then you will definitely say that I got "the money shot!"

There were many pictures of this fellow...

We either have one very busy fox,

or many foxes in our woods.

There are also coyotes...

and deer, does...

(hello, there!)

and bucks...

raccoons...

turkeys...

stray kitties...

I think...

There were a few pictures of neighbors' escaped horses...

running through the woods...

But the best picture of all...
the money shot...
the one I have waited for...
for what seems like forever....

YES!!!
A bear!

Well, as you can see, there is much activity in our woods at night.
That's so very exciting to me...
knowing that we are surrounded by so much life.
And having the ability to see what we don't ordinarily see is so much fun!

- The Wilder Side
It's our fifth day in the midst of a fog bank.Visibility has been negligible for days, now....which makes photography difficult at best...unless, however, one is in the mood for fog photos! I thought today might be a good day to take a walk on the...

- A Walk On The Wild Side
The dogs and I took a trip into the woods to retrieve game cameras yesterday. My hopes were high that this might be the week we see a bear. For the past several weeks we have seen so much evidence of bear in the woods...but the woods are large and a game...

- Field Trips...on And Off The Farm
You might remember a couple weeks agothat Hubbs and I and the dogs took a hike in the woods and found a treethat had been decimated by a bear. We subsequently positioned our game cameras in that area in the hopes of capturing a bear photo. A couple...

- A Walk On The Wild Side...week 3
After reviewing this week's trail cam images,it's official...we have a lot of deer in our woods...and squirrels! There were no surprises this week...(except Hubbs riding his bike through the woods!) This family of deer showed up several times...

- All The Stuff That Makes A Day....
And so October snuck in this week while we weren't looking, and with him came all the typical signs of Autumn. I am no longer serenaded by birdsong as I do morning chores. No, the song that fills the air nowadays is that of crickets chirping...punctuated...
