Autumn Memories
Autumn days...cool breezes, changing leaves, hot cider and donuts,
bonfires, family times... so many wonderful things crammed into one weekend!
I left you Friday with a teaser about a wedding on the farm, didn't I?
Well, it was quite a special wedding for us.
It was magical and perfect...
intimate and touching.
It took place in Dr. Becky's barn
(you might remember that Dr. Becky is Hubbs' sister.)
The lane was lined with luminaries...
The barn illuminated by fairy lights...
Hay bales were our seating...
The groom's 9 year old daughter (standing on a bale of hay in her pink cowgirl boots)
gave the opening remarks...
a touching proclamation of the love between her Daddy and Becky.
(The legal ceremony had been private two weeks before..
This barn ceremony was to include the groom's son and daughter...
to give them a special day to celebrate a new family.
Family and friends gathered to witness their family vows,
share a meal and celebrate the love and happiness found by these two special people
and two adorable children who have become an integral part of our farm family.
(not pictured here, however...they were quite busy all evening with wedding details)
It could not have been a more enjoyable or touching ceremony.
(And yes, that is Mackenzie sitting on her Muppy's knee.)
Our evening ended around a bonfire...making Smores!
Perfect!
We had a house full of company until Sunday afternoon...
the weekend was full and fun!
After everyone had left, Hubbs and I headed out for a hike with the dogs.
We all stretched our legs and enjoyed the peaceful quiet of the farm
on a temperate Autumn day.
Our lives are full of happy stories now...
our children are all settled and happy and beginning their own lives and doing well.
It's a great place to be...surrounded by happiness!
