FDA Refuses to Name Names
Over on Howl911, Nikki has made the point that what the FDA is doing would sound ridiculous if human food products were involved. Something like: “We’ve identified four bakeries that got the tainted ingredients, and it might have made it to products that are on your grocery shelves. Any recalls are voluntary, and we can’t tell you which breads you might want to avoid. Have a nice day.”I am outraged the FDA will not tell us the names of the products that might be contaminated so we can avoid them. At the moment I am feeding very little dry commercial food (because Sockie ~Pooh at times refuses to eat anything but dry cat food) and plain yogurt, salmon, shrimp, brown rice, eggs and the kittens will eat chicken (for some reason Sockie~Pooh will not touch chicken). The kittens are also still getting milk substitute. But I worry that they are not getting the vitamins they need. The FDA by refusing to tell us which pet foods 'might' be contaminated make all pet food suspect. As always Pet Connection Blog is doing a splendid job keeping pet owners informed about what is going on.
