In Mississippi, teachers are not required to take economics as part of their teacher preparation program. As a result, the assessed knowledge of our social studies teachers in economics is low.

I wonder what other classes they aren't required to take?

Pet owners, add this to your hurricane evacuation info

With hurricane season upon us, we want to remind all pet owners in the coastal area to take their pets with them should they have to evacuate.
While the Mississippi Animal Rescue League in Jackson, cannot take all the pets, we can refer you to pet-friendly shelters.
In case of evacuation please contact us at: (601)
969-1631 or (601)
842-2214.
