Warning ~ Pet rescue accused of taking money and dumping pets

Susan Garner operates a rescue called SG Alley Cats and is now accused of running a scheme to take money for surrendered cats before getting rid of them. The accusations came after Garner called animal control to come get 16 of her rescued cats.

Each animal was given to her along with a "drop-off" fee of $10 per cat. Authorities believe she took the money, then got rid of these 16 pets. Owners told authorities that they believed their cats would be safe, not end up at a shelter.

Of the 16 cats that went to the shelter, some were picked up by their previous owners who were contacted from the tags they still wore, one was euthanized due to illness upon arrival, some found adoptive homes, and the others scheduled for euthanasia have now been put on "hold" until the matter is sorted out.

This is despicable, we feel so bad for these poor cats. It's bad enough to be abandoned by your previous owner, but at least they cared enough about you to send you to a rescue and not a shelter where you would be euthanized. We don't blame the previous owners for feeling duped and angry. We just wishes all the cats had loving forever homes. You can read all about it here.
