Mancat Monday

Mom couldn't believe my new friend was practically at the front door. We used to never see squirrels in our front yard, but this year we seem to have a abundance of them. There is even a squirrel that shares the backyard with Fenris & Tuiren.

Mom was thrilled she finally found some native Milkweed. This is White Swamp Weed, we hopes to add more native varieties of milkweed to our garden next year.

When Mommy first gets the plants she usually dumps them on the front porch until she has time to plant them. Some go in pots and some go in the ground.

The Milkweed got carted down to the Hummingbird Cottage.

We are loving seeing our Trumpet Vine blooming. Mommy said the poster that said it was invasive is 100% correct but it is a native plant here. Still she has to keep removing the babies from the flower bed are it would take over the entire bed. It is also blooming earlier in the year than it should, we don't know why. The Candy Corn Cuphea and our Pineapple Sage are also blooming earlier than normal.

I like relaxing in the Hummingbird Cottage. This is my favorite hangout.

I thinks Mom did a good job planting the White Swamp Weed. The white blooms look nice next to the purple Mexican Sage. ~Socks, reporting for ATCAD

- Coin - Photo Hunt
Coin - to invent a new word or expression, or to use one in a particular way for the first time:  We often wonder who coined the names of our flowers. We call the pretty pink flower Bee Balm, but it has a bunch of other names too;  Beebalm,...

Victoria Blue Salvia. Diamond Frost. Purple Heart with Lantana. It has done really well this year, the picture doesn't do it justice. Mommy took a few in vibrant color. If you look carefully you can see the Pupa (Chrysalis) snakeapillar turned into....

- Mancat Monday
The beebalm is blooming. I likes the purrty pink color. We were excited to see the maypop vine, it has moved from one bed to another. I am going to just enjoy being outside. Golden Globe needs weeding Mom. The Hibiscus is looking good. I am just going...

- Mancat Monday
Somebody asked if Scylla is the main garden helper, the fact is we all lend a paw. While Scylla lays in the flower beds and talks to the plants, they really likes that. I roam the yard looking for problems. I tell Mommy about fire ant beds so hopefully...

- Scylla Sunday
I am having a wonderful Scylla Sunday, would you like to join me for a garden stroll.  The Firecracker Cuphea is a riot of blooms.  The Candy Corn is starting to get in on the act, they are going to look fantastic together. The Mexican Sage...
