Mancat Monday
Mommy is reading Homer's Odyssey by Gwen Cooper. We found out about the book when Cat Ruler of the World Katie was running for office. Katie supported Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary, in the Campaign for a Cause Contest. We were amazed and extremely touched by all these special cats and we just had to read Homer's story.
I knows it looks as if I am sleeping but I am listening very carefully while Mommy reads to me.
The Hummingbird Cottage is a wonderful place to spend the day reading when it is sunny out. The vines are providing a nice shade now.
Not to mention all the Hummingbirds you gets to watch.
OK, Mommy you have had a long enough break get back to reading the book to me please. ~Socks

American Literature ~civil War Unit
A Taste of Freedom by Tommie Thompson. I am rather disappointed in the book. To me the reading level is 4th grade, but due to the content I wouldn't introduce it until at least Junior High. I have been in two mind about using it as the reading level...
