Petfood worries
This is just gross Nebraska By-Products converts unwanted dead animals into high-energy dog food, other useful products. And this just makes us sick A year to forget at Menu Foods
It was a year Paul Henderson says he would rather forget.
From the moment he initiated a recall of 60 million cans and pouches of pet food in 2007, the chief executive of Menu Foods Income Fund knew life would never be the same
We wishes we could forget March 2007, we wishes Menu Foods hadn't poisoned our beloved Whiskers. Mr. Henderson we will never forget that our Whiskers died because you sold food that was not safe for pets to eat.
For pet food retailers and sellers looking for quality products, Menu’s name remains at the top of the list, Mr. Henderson insists.
“We certainly didn’t seem to have much anonymity at the time [of the recall]. But the individuals who were in positions of decision-making, who had access to the facts, gave us comfort in our ability to weather this,” Mr. Henderson said. “Menu’s reputation in the industry remains one of a very high quality manufacturer who just happened to have been a victim of fraud.”
Note from AlasandraI would never EVER consider purchasing a product that had any connection with Menu Foods. But now I am wondering about Diamond Pet Foods
The
Chicken Soup for Cat Lovers was highly recommend to me, but when I realized it was made by Diamond I wondered if it was safe in light of the recent recalls involving Diamond.
I have been feeding The Chicken Soup for Cat Lovers (canned) to Socks, Scylla & Charybdis in an effort to get Socks to come in at night. Socks & Scylla are fine but Charybdis is having trouble breathing. The vet said it was a possible allergic reaction and I wonder if it is to the food. She is suppose to be on canned catfood only in order not to irritate her throat and she seemed to get worse after eating last night. It may be totally unrelated to the food.
The vet said it was possible sinus allergies, some sort of respiratory virus, an allergic reaction to something like a bee sting, or asthma, but now I am obsessing about the food.
