Pickles and Ice Cream
Yesterday afternoon while feeding the fainting goats
I heard a dainty voice say
"Excuse me, do you have any pickles today?"
Another sweet voice chimed in, "And ice cream!"
Well, you can imagine my surprise when I turned around to see Sissy
and O' Malley standing there.
We have been hoping that both of these gals are pregnant to our dear, sweet Mojo (who we had to euthanize last month because of a severe urinary blockage). Mojo had been co-habitating with both Sissy and O'Malley in the weeks preceding his untimely demise. We are so hoping that he successfully mated with each of these gals.
I think they are starting to look a little broader in the abdomen...
what do you think?
Well, we will soon know for sure.
Becky will be performing an ultrasound
on each of these girls sometime later this week.
We'll be sure to let you know the results!

Jubilation
The waiting is over. We are overjoyed to bring you the news. The rabbit died. I know, that sounds very sad. Fear not, we don't even own a rabbit. Actually, the weather warmed up long enough to comfortably perform pregnancy checks on our dear Sissy...

Goat Herding
This weekend we moved our bucks into one of the big pastures...to serve as their winter home. Imagine this scene: It is 24 degrees out, 7 AM. Becky, Jack and I meet at the goat pens that are situated between our two properties. The smell of stinky bucks...

Babies On Board!!
Happy news for Bee Haven Acres: Missy and Myrtle are pregnant! You might remember a post from about two months ago, when we led our bucks, kicking and screaming, down to the yard closer to the gals. Here is Smoochie in an act of protest. We put Chip...
