Rainsville, Alabama is Heartless

I would hate to live in Rainsville, Alabama. Most of you have heard this story before. This nice lady rescued dogs, then some mean person set her house on fire and then mean Rainsville told Carol to get rid of all the dogs. She can only have 3 dogs on her 4 1/2 acres of property while the breeders across the street have 17 and yet more breeders at the other end of the street have more! Apparently there is NO JUSTICE in Rainsville, and Judge Raines is heartless. We hope when he dies he comes back as a homeless dog. (Please note that we did not say we hoped he died, merely that when he does he learns what it is like to be a homeless dog, if he is lucky Dog Raines will meet nicer people then he is).

Because of all the publicity she has until FEBRUARY 9th, 2009 to rehome the dogs. There are 17 dogs left. Most of them are large and some of them are black. Apparently black dogs are harder to find homes for.

If you have looked at the dogs before, new information has been added. Many are housetrained, and several are now living indoors at Carol's garage apartment. She and other volunteers have been working with them to make them more adoptable.

We first heard about this from Jan's Funny Farm and we want to thank them for keeping us updated on the plight of these poor doggies.

JFF also has a heartwarming post about a dog named Murphy and the amazing man that rescued him.
