We are enraged at this heartless blogger
We all have tears in our eyes after reading Podunk Wisconsinites and the Feral Cat.
In April 2005, my fine state supported a proposal to make feral cats an unprotected species, a classification that would allow them to be hunted and killed. Despite the fact that 51 of 72 counties in the state voted in favor of the proposal, Gov. Jim Doyle dampened our kitty killing spirits by claiming it was making Wisconsin a “laughingstock”.Thank goodness for Gov. Jim. Doyle. We really don't care what his reasons were as long as he stopped mean people from killing cats. We do sympathize with the blogger being tired of cat poop in her garden, but there are better solutions then the killing of cats. And contrary to what this blogger thinks the Humane Society’s answer of Trap-Neuter-Release does work given time.
We are horrified to learn that people are allowed to shoot cats in South Dakota and Minnesota. We are going to try to find out how we can prevent the killing of cats in these two states, if any of you have any ideas about how we can help the poor cats in these states please let us know.
