Early Morning Pasture Inspiration

Early mornings in the pasture are splendid these days!
The sun is up so very early...
as are the birds.

The equines go out to pasture early in the morning and enjoy the first few hours of the day
munching and exploring.

It's my favorite time of day (if I had to pick a favorite).

I hesitate to call anything my "favorite",
because there are so many special moments in each and every day!

The horses are happy to graze to their hearts' content and pay me no attention.

The donkeys, on the other hand, spy me and come to share a moment.

These two...

these wonderfully social beings...

have a depth of soul unlike others.

Given a choice between snuggling with me and eating, they chose me.

It's great to feel special...
and nice to know that I am more than just "she who feeds"!

I thought of something as I was walking through the pasture admiring the daffodils
on this cool morning...

It's important to always remember that so much in life....
is a matter of perspective.
Because....just on the periphery of this beautiful scene...
or of any beautiful scene....

there is, most likely, a little of this as well:

After all...you cannot have one without the other!
Don't ever be fooled by what seems like perfection.
Most likely it's just a matter of perspective!

And if it looks as though the grass really is greener on the other side of the fence...

don't forget what you leave behind!

Have a wonderful day, friend...
enjoy each and every moment...
and remember, it's all just a matter of perspective!

- Here A Flake, There A Flake, Everywhere A Snowflake!
Winter has arrived...a little early. It's been bitter cold...cold enough to freeze the edge of the pond and the autumn leaves that floated there. Yesterday morning, as I headed to the barn for chores, the scene was this: Out in the pasture the horses...

- A Visit With Becky's Horses
One of my favorite things about this time of year is the magnificent sunrises! Each and every morning I am met with such dramatic skies...definitely a good reason to get up early! Yesterday when I finished morning chores, I stopped to watch Sid, Becky's...

Early mornings are great fun. When the morning chores are complete, the gates to the pasture are opened and the horses are free to graze and run and play for the day. Oakley and Sam especially love this time of day."Chase" seems to be a favorite game...

- Is It Greener?
The grass, that is....Is it really greener on the other side of the fence? According to the Littles, it is.They have a whole open pasture at their disposal. Are they out enjoying it?No.... they are in the dry lot eating on the other side of the fence.Ollie:...

- The Grass Is Greener
I have often heard it said that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. So, I posed this question to the Littles........And Red said, "Definitely, the grass IS greener on the other side!" Every day at some point I catch my little men with...
