Home is....

Where my heart is....

Some days it's so hard to leave.
There are errands to run, groceries to buy,
but I just cannot force myself to leave home!
Yesterday was one such day.

I thought I would share some pictures that I took,
to show you my world.

And maybe you will understand,
why sometimes leaving is so hard....

A few years ago, we added an additional 12 acres of adjoining land to the farm....
in hopes that one or more, or all of our kids will one day want to build a life here...
to carry on our legacy.
This acreage is on the northern edge of our land, down a path through the woods....

with a vista that makes me swoon.

Rolling hills in the distance, farmland in the middle...
The acreage is now a cornfield, but someday???

And so I took the day to just appreciate my home.
With camera in hand, I set out to capture its essence.

And because so much of what I love is the animals that I care for....

I had to include them also!

It seems I am surrounded by camera hogs!

Though most days are solitary,
I am never alone.

So many loving souls to visit...

With one thing in common....

home!

No matter where life takes me...
there's no place on earth quite like it!

- Photography

- Out On A Limb
My days are never boring.No.Never. In fact, my days are so dang amazing that I could write a book.If. I. Only. Had. Time! The farm has taught me many lessons.Perhaps the most important is this.Never, ever go anywhere without your camera...and a fully...

- Sacred
I received perhaps the nicest compliment from my hubby yesterday. And I don't usually put too much thought into compliments, but his was genuine. I had just finished painting this sign and hanging it on the greenhouse. He was looking at the greenhouse...

- Under Seige (again?)
Gosh, I am sure that at some point in the past several months I had another post by the same title. Well, such is life on a farm at the edge of the woods. The latest intruder is Coccinella septempunctata, or the common Ladybug. Each Autumn, around the...

- Sunset...
We have tried to create special places to visit around the farm. One of this year's new additions is the sunset bench. Located on the northwest corner of our land, we placed a bench at the edge of the woods, cleared a path to it and lined it with...
