Napping

Is there anything more delicious than a nap in the middle of the day?

Actually I wouldn't know, because I never take naps!

But, I do love it when the horses nap...
seeing them lying down assures me that they feel safe and secure
in their home here on the farm.

Horses have the ability to sleep standing up and do so many times during the day.
But they also have the need for deep sleep...lying down.

That's the type of sleep reserved for times when they feel completely safe.

While these guys were napping, I was busy building a rock wall
around a new landscaping project.
Hopefully I can share the end result one of these days real soon!

Have a wonderfully restful weekend!

Take a nap!

- Another Cute Kid Video!
If anyone reading this post has the ability to slow time, please do so! I'd have to say that life on the farm is almost perfect...except for the fact that there is never enough time in any given day....and...with every passing year time ticks aways...

- Sleep Tight.....
One of my favorite times of day is late evening..."tuck-in" time for the horses. They have their fly masks removed (yes, even Scarlet is leaving her fly mask on these days!) and have their bedtime meal....a yummy flake of hay for each. After feeding...

- Lazy Day/busy Day
If you did not know, it would appear that something catastrophic happened in our dry lot in this picture....so many horses down at the same time! It is unusual to see all of the horses sleeping at the same time. Usually, at least one stands lookout. I...

- Moonbeam
He is in need of a bath and some general grooming....but with the weather as it has been for the last several days (rainy), it will have to wait. Still....he is quite lovely, don't you think? Though a bit on the chubby side, (he really loves to graze)...
