Twins on Tuesday ~ Another Dare
Maya and Kena -We dare you all to take part in helping prevent global warming (even by making tiny changes) by planting a seed of any species of plant, naming it, and watching it grow while posting the progress on your blog!
We are kinda doing this backward we hope Maya and Kena don't mind. Last January our neighbor gave us some Candlebush seeds. We planted them and the result was several very pretty Candlebushes. In the above photo you can see one that had seed pods on it. Apparently there are boy and girl Candlebushes cause not all of them had seed pods. The ones in pots in the green house must be boys, cause they do not have seed pods.
The seed pods turned brown when the seeds were ready to be harvested.
Mommy helped us gather the seeds and we left them in the top of a pie plate (recycled) to dry out. We also use pie plates to put under our flower pots to catch the water.
Once they are dried out we put them in a baggie, until we are ready to plant them. We are glad we gathered the seeds cause Mr. Frost killed the Candlebushes that were growing in the butterfly garden. So you could say the dare has come full circle. We planted a seed, grew the plant, gathered the seeds, and will plant them again.
Now we are suppose to tell you we are very sorry Socks didn't have a chance to do Mancat Monday yesterday. He and Mommy cut down all the deaded things Mr. Frost killed in the butterfly garden and put the debris in the wheel barrow. They also dug up one plant that wasn't completly deaded and put it in a pot so it can live in the greenhouse until spring. Anyways they were very tired and didn't feel like posting. Especially since silly Mommy insisted on doing laundry and mopping floors when she came in. We could barely convince her to crawl out of bed and give us breakfast today as she says her back hurts.

Thursday In The Garden
This is a Foxglove Mommy keeps in the green house. A little violet is coming up in the same pot. Mommy will probably find a bed to plant it in this year. Daddy grew these tomatoes from seeds. He has already planted most of them in buckets....
