What Do April Snow Showers Bring?

As I sit and write this post, the temperature outside is hovering right around freezing.
Believe it or not, it is snowing...
and has been flurrying most of the day.
Weird for this time of year, not?
Our April showers have been snow showers!

Winter may be revisiting us for a couple of days,
but our hearts are warm from the wonderful events of this week.

The week started with sunshine...

and smiling pansies...

and was filled with lots of lamby love!

I spent hours weeding the garden on the other side of the fence
from these three wonderful new additions.
There is nothing more peaceful than watching sheep graze!
Ok...well....Hope and Faith aren't such peaceful grazers...
they are more into racing around the grass jumping over each other.

Hope is becoming quite cuddly.
Now, when I pick her up, she nestles her face alongside my neck and snuggles.

Faith is not quite as tame...but we will work on her, too.

I have spent a little extra time with all of my other friends...
fearful that they might feel forgotten.

Forgotten is one thing that none of them will ever be.
These animals are my family.
I awaken every morning eager to be back outside amongst them all.

Each of them has an attachment to me...some more than others...
and it is my responsibility to meet all of their needs...
both physical and emotional.

The end of the week brought spectacular sunrises...
(a harbinger of the snow that followed)

and another trip to the Post Office...
for a second shipment of chicks...

I am happy to report that all chicks are doing quite well.
A third heat lamp was placed into the brooder house to help fight this cold.

Yes, it's been an exciting week...with lots of new additions.
We're all a little "dog tired" from the excitement.
I am sure by next week, we will settle into a routine again.

Don't forget to check back tomorrow to see what we caught on the game cameras.
This week they have been overlooking the stream...
I can hardly wait to see who visited there!

- Snow Day?
There was a day (long ago) when the mere mention of "SNOW DAY"sent fluttering butterflies of excitement through my soul. Those were the days when a snow day meant...no school, playing for hours on mountains of snow left at the curb by the plow,snow...

- The First Snow Comes Late
We awoke yesterday morning to the first snowfall of this winter. It's late this year.Usually by this time we have had snow on the ground for weeks.I am not complaining...we've had a mild winter...and mild winters are much easier for farm chores....

- A Banner Weekend
As I write this post... it is snowing again. Another 7 or so inches are predicted...time will tell. ( This is Ella Bella-chick...given that name this Super Bowl weekend because of her continual scowl.) Our weekend flew by so very quickly...spent...

- Tgif
It has been quite a week here on the farm.Lots of work... lots of satisfaction. I wanted to let you know that it has been one week since our 18 tiny ducklings hatched...and at the end of one week we still have 18 ducklings! Amazingly, they have...

- Water Water Everywhere!
I am so happy to report thatafter three solid days of rain, our snow has melted! Our grass is even beginning to turn green. This may seem like no big deal. But, we have had snow on the ground, with the exception of one unseasonably warm weekin January,...
