This is a real treat as the Great Blue Heron usually departs when I get to close.
I see him down at the pond frequently.
But he is very good at blending into his surroundings and sometimes I am almost on top of him before I realize he is there.
I have never been able to get a picture of him in flight as once he takes to the air he is very fast.
