The Standoff


Maddie, our Newfie, spends most of her day going in and out of the house.


Although she is a house dog,
her thick winter coat gets her a little overheated.
So, often during the day she asks to go outside.

One of her favorite place is the garage,
where she has a comfy bed, food and water.

(Our dogs have always been on "demand" feeding, so they just nibble a little
throughout the day.  There is also a feeding/water station in our laundry room.)

Every afternoon the roosters visit the garage
and the following happens....

Behind our house there is a magical path that leads out through the wood pile and makes its way into the woods.  The woods on this side of the house is a mixture of hemlock (evergreen) and deciduous trees.   For three seasons...

- Construction Update
Things are moving along....seemingly slowly, but, yet each week the house ends up looking a little more like we have envisioned it. This week the well was dug....unfortunately, they had to dig about 200 yards away from the house to find water that did...
